Uncle Billy’s is a great patio to chill and drink an artisan beer under a shaded tree. They brew their own beer, and it’s one of the best craft beers in Austin. The Pretzel & Sausage Board is a perfect compliment with the beer or their Memphis Style Pulled Pork. This is definitely Austin cool, and a perfect place to bring the dog and kids before heading over to Butler Park Pitch & Putt.
Right down the street, is one of the best neighborhood grocery stores in Austin, Thom’s Market. This locally owned boutique grocery store carries wine, beer, snacks and an endless selection of local, artisan products with the friendliest staff in the city. Grab beer or soda as Butler Park Pitch & Putt is BYOB, and definitely grab Better Bites Bakery from the front showcase…a perfect dessert after BBQ & Beer.
TIP: Hours Mon-Sat 8am-10pm, Sun 10am-8pm. A great place to stop in the morning with Taco Deli breakfast tacos and Anderson Coffee!
Butler Park Pitch & Putt is a prime example of what makes Austin one of the best cities in the nation. Dogs, kids, young, and old have come here since 1950 with their coolers full of drinks and snacks to play a great short game of golf. Under shaded trees sits this 9 hole golf course, and $8 buys a round. Don’t have clubs? No problem. There are club rentals and golf balls available for purchase at the clubhouse. No doubt, this is a fun way to spend a day.
TIP: Hours Mon-Fri 9am-Dusk and Sat-Sun 8:30am-Dusk. No glass containers. Snacks also available.
