TIAN TIAN GOLDEN PALACE:

Tian Tian Golden Palace is based in Dallas and landed here in Austin, and I love it! Bill and I lived in the Asia Pacific for 3 years, and got spoiled with all of the amazing Asian cuisine…and this place is legit Chinese food. Dim Sum, Noodles, Hot Tea, Delicious Seafood…it’s heaven! And it even “feels” like a legit Chinese restaurant with the big, round tables and red chairs with the big lazy susan in the middle of the table for family style eating. It’s really a great spot…and I’m so glad they landed here in Austin!

SnoMo, short for Snow Monster, is the winner for the best Taiwanese Shaved Ice. It’s within a half mile of Tian Tian, and a perfect follow up after the salty & sour Chinese food. It’s a bright, cheery shop with one of my favorite kind of dessert. Taiwan is the origin of this delicious Fresh Fruit Shaved Ice Treat with thinly sliced ice covered with 3 different toppings such as fresh fruit, pearls or pudding. The winner at this shop is the Snow Ice with flavored shaved ice shaped like a ribbon covered with delicious toppings. Try the Taro Flavor with the puddings and red beans for something unique and delicious.
