MATT’S EL RANCHO:

Another great patio, and one of the oldest restaurants in Austin is Matt’s El Ranch on South Lamar.  The restaurant has been family owned and operated for over 50 years, with some of the best Mexican food the city has to offer. Definitely try the Skinny Margarita made with freshly squeezed lime juice along with Niman Ranch Beef & Chicken Combo Fajitas.

Tip: They do not take reservations but is a large restaurant with plenty of seating. Closed on Tuesdays. Kid’s Menu Available.

BROKEN SPOKE:

A half mile down the road sits Broken Spoke, an institution which makes Austin what it is today.  This dance hall started in 1964 with musicians such as Bob Willis and continues to bring honky tonk to locals and travelers from all over the world.

Tip: They also serve food. Closed Sunday and Monday.
