DINER BAR

THE DINER BAR:

The Diner Bar, located inside the Thompson Hotel, is a restaurant brought in by James Beard Outstanding Chef out of Savannah.  This is soul cooking at it’s finest with the basic items such as deviled eggs, fresh fish and chicken.  These cozy booths mimic a diner cafe with a sophisticated twist, and a great place to hang out with friends.  Their Bar is a cool vibe with Vodka Flights and Bar Snacks, so it’s a perfect place to meet up and grab a drink.

TIP:  Open for dinner daily and Brunch on Saturday and Sunday.  Reservations available on Open Table.

THOMPSON HOTEL:

The Thompson Hotel is a high end hotel from the Hyatt Brand…and I am in love with this concept!  I am thrilled that they are downtown Austin, and they are a welcomed asset to the neighborhood.  You are greeted with a huge smile and a cool vibe as soon as you walk in the door, and the environment welcomes you to stay.  There are gorgeous art pieces surrounding the common areas, with 2 great restaurants and the Grey Market.  It’s definitely worth checking out!

GREY MARKET:

The Grey Market is a casual spot to dine, that looks like a true diner, with a cool bar and booths.  They also have a great market with merch, plus high end niche grocery items and cookbooks.

WAX MYRTLES:

Wax Myrtle’s is the name of a desert shrub which you’ll see as soon as you walk onto the patio next to the pool of this cool restaurant. The whole restaurant is designed with a mid century modern vibe, and it’s a cheery spot to dine.  Everything is fresh, seasonal and sustainable, which has become important in my book!  I am so glad they are here in Austin!
