LOCAL FOODS:

Local Foods is a Houston based company that opened up an Austin location, and the owners live here! They have a huge space in the coveted downtown Austin location, with a fabulous patio and 2 stories of booths and tables. This cheery, airy spot is a great spot for lunch or dinner with the family or friends! Their specialty is sandwiches, soups and salads, using the freshest ingredients. I fell in love with the Chicken Posole Soup and the Gluten Wrapped Bahn Mi! This is a Counter Service restaurant, so it’s quick and efficient for lunch too. This is the 2nd Street District with a ton of shopping and fun things to do, so it’s a great place to hang out for the day.

TIP: Open daily for brunch, lunch and dinner.

MOODY THEATRE:

Moody Theatre is legendary. When available, Tours are open Monday through Friday 11am to noon. Guests are guided through the home of the Austin City Limits television show. This state of the art venue allows all guests to be seated within 75 feet of the stage allowing for an intimate concert experience. The tour takes guests through galleries showcasing the work of legendary music photographers Scott Newton and Jim Marshall.

3 TEN A CL:

3 Ten ACL is the baby sister of Moody on the bottom floor with a cozy, intimate spot for watching music. Austin doesn’t disappoint with its nonstop live music, and the artists, with the low prices cannot be beat. It’s a few steps away from She’s Not Here, and a perfect follow up for a night out with a date or loved ones.

MILK+HONEY SPA:

Milk + Honey Spa is one of the best spas in Austin. A day or night of indulgence starts at the spa with a massage, facial or mani/pedi, and is a perfect way to relax before enjoying the rest of your experience in Downtown Austin. Along with the traditional spa services, they provide hair cuts, blow outs, and color too!

VIOLET CROWN CINEMA:

Violet Crown is the best movie theater for a small, boutique experience. Order a bottle of wine and dessert, and enjoy a movie at the Violet Crown theatre. If you arrive early, you can enjoy their bar off the main cinema. Try the Spring Rolls and Cake Balls for dessert. Delish.

AUSTIN ROCKS:

Austin Rocks sells clothing as unique and edgy as the city is calls home. The are two stores both selling clothes ranging from leather rocker chic to casual bohemian. Pick up authentic ACL PBS merchandise or a variety of clothing many by local Austin artists and vendors.
