SANDY’S HAMBURGERS:
Sandy’s Hamburgers is a Barton Springs icon and serves the best custard in town. Served in either a chocolate dipped cone, plain cone or in a dish…the custard is a perfect dessert with their delicious burgers on a hot summer day. It’s also a great ending to a day spent outside at the neighboring Zilker Park. Most order from the drive through but they also have picnic tables to enjoy this nostalgic experience.
TIP: Open daily from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm.

LONG CENTER:
Long Center across the street from Sandy’s. “Located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, the Long Center is Austin’s iconic cultural center and gathering place. Built by the community for the community, we are your gateway to live entertainment and engaging events. ” Our favorite is the Ballet and the Symphony, but the events they host are top notch in Austin.
TIP: Check website for latest events.
BUTLER PARK:
Butler Park is across the street from Sandy’s Hamburgers, alongside of Long Center. This park has splashing fountains that will make any kid smile. There are plenty of trails so be sure to bring bikes. Butler Park borders Lady Bird Lake, with plenty of trails for walking and biking and the views cannot be beat while playing a pick-up game with family.
TIP: Pack a picnic and bring a plastic bag for your trash. Don’t forget to bring your pets on a leash!
